Philosophy

St. Elizabeth Academy, built on a tradition of more than a century of quality Catholic education for young women, integrates learning and living in the light of faith.

We enable each student to grow in her relationship with God and with the Church. We believe instruction in Scripture, doctrine, and morality, together with participation in prayer, worship and sacramental life are essential aspects of our program of religious education. We are a Christian community, rooted in faith and mutual concern, characterized by an atmosphere of respect for God, self, and others. We believe a caring atmosphere is necessary for each person to develop a positive self-image and conviction of her inner goodness. Believing that service to others is an expression of the Gospel message, we encourage responsible service to family, the Church and to the civic community.

We believe in high academic standards and we challenge each student to develop her talents to the best of her ability. Through a balanced program of humanities, sciences, practical and fine arts, and physical education, we provide opportunities for students to expand their knowledge, increase their skills, and broaden their experiences. Extracurricular activities supplement our religious and academic courses. We realize that working toward excellence implies a need for self-confidence and self-discipline, qualities that we nurture in our students.

We believe the cultural diversity of our St. Elizabeth Academy community enriches our students and prepares them for their role as citizens of the global community.
